New hire for Lodders top ranking agricultural team

Midlands law firm Lodders has added-to its specialist legal support for landowners, farmers and rural businesses, with the appointment of Sarah Richardson as a Solicitor in its Agricultural and Landed Estates team.

Working alongside team head James Spreckley, and partner Caroline Nemecek, Sarah joins Lodders’ 10-strong agricultural team from Birmingham firm, The Wilkes Partnership.

A University of Birmingham law graduate, Sarah undertook her training in Wilkes’ commercial property, private client, insolvency and commercial litigation departments, having worked there as a Paralegal.

With farming in the family, Sarah has always had a keen interest in the countryside, which was a particular attraction of the new role at Lodders, as she explains:

“My interest in agriculture stems from my grandparents and great-grandparents being heavily involved in farming in Yorkshire. I am particularly pleased to have the opportunity to join a specialist Agricultural and Landed Estates team, especially one that is so well regarded and part of such a long-standing and reputable firm that prides itself on delivering outstanding legal advice to a wide range of clients.

“I am looking forward to working with clients from the sector, helping them to achieve their ambitions and objectives, as well as being part of a highly respected and top ranking team that is dedicated to supporting agricultural and rural estates businesses and individuals.”

Founded nearly 230 years ago, Lodders has offices in Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Henley in Arden and its Agricultural and Landed Estates team, one of the largest in the region, works for agricultural and real estate clients across the Midlands, the Cotswolds and the South West.

Team head James Spreckley says the latest appointment reinforces Lodders’ continued commitment to the sector: “Lodders has worked for individuals and businesses in the agricultural and farming world throughout its long history and its commitment to the sector and growing its team continues apace.

“We are delighted that Sarah has chosen to join us, and her significant legal skill and ability will support the team in maintaining our servicing of our clients’ wide ranging needs.

“It is a great reflection on the firm that such a talented and personable solicitor has chosen to join us, and with rural interests, Sarah is very well placed to help and maintain our growth and support for our clients.”

Throughout its history, Lodders has worked with farmers, family businesses, landowners, rural communities, real estate and property owners and has been consistently recognised for its work in the agricultural and real estate sectors, whilst its specialist agriculture and real estate teams have retained their Tier 1 position in the latest (2015) Legal 500.
