'Bould’ Move For Poppy-PR As Sarah Joins The Team

Derbyshire-based Poppy-PR has been ‘Bould over’ with its latest new PR manager, who has helped to take both the company’s services and manpower to the next level.

Sarah Bould, 35, from Belper, is joining the PR, marketing and events agency with over ten years worth of journalistic experience.

Boasting an impressive portfolio, Sarah has built a strong writing career since graduating from The University of Chichester in English and Media, before going on to receive her NCTJ qualification in Brighton.

From the very start, Sarah’s sharp writing style and positive work attitude were recognised, having secured her first position as a trainee reporter at the Ripley and Heanor News in 2005.

After completing five years at the Ilkeston-based Johnston Press office, Sarah took a leap and went travelling down under, temporarily living in Australia for six months before returning to the UK to work as an internet journalist for at HoldTheFrontPage. She then progressed to become a senior reporter at the Burton Mail and later the Derbyshire Times. Her last position saw her take on the role of acting content editor for the Derbyshire Times and Mansfield Chad.

Sarah said: “I always knew if I was ever going to make a career change, it would be a move into PR, so when this position at Poppy-PR came up, I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to join the team as I’ve been in journalism for ten years and they are such closely related fields.”

Sarah’s main responsibilities in her new role include prioritising the workload, overseeing other members of staff and utilising her sharp journalism skills to write press releases for clients.

Tina Clough, director of Poppy-PR said: “We are really excited to have Sarah joining the team, she brings an amazing amount of journalism experience to the table. Her positive attitude and drive has helped her to click with the rest of the team straight away.

“I’ve known Sarah a while whilst she has worked for numerous local titles, and when the position became available, I knew that she would be perfect for the role. Our existing clients are excited to meet Sarah, and she even attended our office opening party last year, so we felt that she had closely followed our journey.”

Established in 2010, Ilkeston based Poppy-PR offers strategic and effective solutions to boosting brand awareness and maximising column inches.

The team has executed major press campaigns for clients and secured coverage in the tabloids, the broadsheets, national and regional radio programmes. The agency offers specialist public relations services to those in the property and construction industry, making it one of the only agencies in the Midlands to offer such a niche service.
