PwC relocates Leeds offices to Central Square
PwC has relocated 750 employees from Benson House in Leeds to a new office at the Central Square development on Wellington Street.
Central Square is a new state of the art building, located in the city’s West End just a stones’ throw from Leeds station.
Led by office senior partner Arif Ahmad, the project has been in development for the past three years.
The new office space has been designed to provide total flexibility with a choice of different work settings for the way PwC employees want to work. It includes a main outside terrace to the front of the building adjacent to the client suite, and a number of other open terraces around the building.
Arif Ahmad said: “I’m really excited about the move to Central Square. We’ve worked very closely with the developers to design a space that encourages collaboration, flexible working and work life balance.
“We are also breaking with tradition, and moving Partners out of offices into the centre of the floors, to be more accessible to our people and facilitating a truly open plan working environment.
“The move is the latest significant investment in our Yorkshire & North East practice, following on from recent office moves in Newcastle and Sheffield, We are also home to national centres of excellence for our retail and consumer, and digital practices.
“Basing these in Leeds rather than London is a real feather in our cap and a statement of intent as to the importance of our office here.
“At the same time, we’ve kept a traditional Yorkshire theme, including the naming of meeting rooms.
“I’m also very proud of the sustainability credentials of the new office. Central Square will be the first multi-tenanted BREEAM outstanding rated building anywhere in the country.
“This is a transformational move for PwC in Leeds and our people can’t wait to experience the new space.”
