Law firm cycles 100km for charity

Jefferies Solicitors has raised nearly £600 for charity by cycling 100km through Manchester and Cheshire.

A team of four from the Altrincham-based law firm took part in the Manchester 100 Bike Ride on 4th September to raise money for their chosen charity – The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT).

CAFT is Jefferies Solicitors’ chosen charity and the team has been committed to fundraising on its behalf for several years.

The charitable team, led by managing director Michael Jefferies, completed the race in 5.5 hours, starting and finishing at Wythenshawe Park.

The route took the cyclists along the edge of Tatton Park, through Great Budworth, into mid-Cheshire and then back to the finish at Wythenshawe Park via Mobberly.

Michael Jefferies comments: “Cycling 100km was definitely a challenge, but the team was in good spirits on the day – with the thought of raising money for charity pushing us along. We’re also keen to encourage more people to cycle, so events like this are positive for the local community.

“It’s always a pleasure to raise money for CAFT – it’s a charity we’ve been working with for many years and it does great work improving children and their families’ lives.”

CAFT was established in 1985 by Founding Patron Tim Grundy. It is based in the grounds of a beautiful 17th Century Farmhouse in Millington, Cheshire and offers free adventure breaks and activities to children who are disadvantaged by illness, disability and poverty.
