Legal 500 recognises Taylor&Emmet's newest team

In its first year of practice, the contentious probate team at Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP has secured a place in The Legal 500’s top 10 Yorkshire firms in this discipline.

The specialist solicitors are described as “exceptional” by this year’s guide to the UK legal sector, with department head, Alex Watkinson, hailed as being “technically very good.”

Taylor&Emmet is recommended in 11 areas of personal and business legal services, with the firm’s family team making the top three in its category. The experts are praised for being an “always polite and very professional” group, which includes the “thorough” Lucy Rodgers.

Employment law head, David Poddington, retains his listing in The Legal 500’s leading individuals for a fourth consecutive year, thanks to his “exceptional results,” whilst colleague, Tom Draper, is noted as providing “accurate and helpful advice.”

The firm’s clinical negligence specialists made it into The Legal 500’s top eight contenders for claimant work. Department head, James Drydale, is praised for being “extremely well prepared” and leading a “thorough and user-friendly” team that includes the “personable” Paul Fouad. Recommendations have also been secured by the probate and personal injury experts, who are described as a “brilliant team” with “exceptional expertise.”

Taylor&Emmet’s business legal services performed equally well in this year’s The Legal 500, particularly the “excellent” commercial litigation team, headed by Rob Moore. It is noted for its strength in the motor sector and includes “first class litigator” Paul Smith who “combines a thorough knowledge of the law with a firm grasp of commercial realities.”

Anthony Long, Taylor&Emmet’s chief executive, said: “I am very pleased to see so many of our solicitors receive personal commendation in The Legal 500 this year, especially the younger members of the team, who are demonstrating such high quality expertise and client care. Positive feedback from the industry is gratefully received, but what the many thousands of local residents say about us matters the most and in that regard, we also continue to excel.”

In addition, Taylor&Emmet received recommendations from The Legal 500 2016 for its work in corporate and commercial law, social housing, property litigation and commercial property.
