Slater and Gordon Ranked Best in North West  

Law firm Slater and Gordon has been ranked number one in the north west for its personal injury and clinical negligence work.

The firm, which has its main office in Manchester, is celebrating another strong performance in this year’s prestigious Legal 500, which analyses and assesses the strengths of solicitors across the globe.

It is the only company in the region to be recommended as a top tier firm for clinical negligence and one of only two to achieve the highest ranking for personal injury.

The family department and employment team, which represents employees and unions, also achieved tier one ranking.

Legal 500 said Slater and Gordon, which also has offices across the country including in Liverpool and Chester, had ‘a national presence, but has retained its local feel’ and ‘takes on the difficult cases and provides a wonderful service.’

Managing director, Ken Fowlie, said he was delighted with the company’s strong performance.

Across the country, the firm secured a top tier spot in a total of seven practice areas and was recommended in a further 35. An impressive 17 lawyers made it on to the ‘leading individuals’ list, a guide to those who provide a consistently outstanding service.

In the north west, abuse lawyer Richard Scorer, clinical negligence specialist Ian Cohen, Pauline Chandler, who has years of experience in disease law, and family expert Liz Cowell were all awarded the accolade.

More than 30 of the 84 lawyers recommended are also based in the region, which now boasts Slater and Gordon’s flagship office which opened last year on Mosley Street in Manchester.

Legal 500 is a leading independent legal directory, which researches and ranks law firms annually based on a set criteria, including cases, feedback from clients and industry colleagues.
