Wigan chocolatier expands with Haigh Woodland Park shop
A new store for chocoholics has launched at Haigh Woodland Park in Wigan.
Located within the park’s Kitchen Courtyard, Luisco Chocolate provides chocolate products such as bars, bonbons and stirrers for individuals and occasions such as weddings, birthdays and corporate events.
The firm’s owner, Colette Alexander, founded the company in 2014 but this year decided to take advantage of the “perfect opportunity” to establish a bricks-and-mortar presence.
She said: “I’m really excited to bring Luisco Chocolate to the Kitchen Courtyard.
“Haigh Woodland Park offers the perfect opportunity and location to expand my business and having previewed many of the products in a pop-up venue within the Kitchen Courtyard over the summer, we have had really great feedback.”
Luisco Chocolate products, all of which are free from wheat and gluten, can be customised with a hand-painted finish.
Wigan Council’s cabinet member for leisure, Cllr Paul Kenny, commented: “Finding innovative companies that will enhance our portfolio of artisan products from across the region is the goal of the kitchen courtyard.
“Luisco Chocolate has a unique philosophy and is a welcome addition to the high-quality local produce that visitors are currently enjoying in Haigh Woodland Park.”
