Bags of Help up for grabs for local charity
A SPECIALIST education charity in Doncaster is bidding for a cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help scheme, to help to create a Forest School for its children, pupils and student.
Doncaster Deaf Trust, which manages a nursery, school and college, is hoping to secure enough votes in Tesco stores to help to develop a Forest School; a natural learning environment for children, complete with trees, shrubs, flowers and maybe even a weather station or Beehive!
The Bags of Help initiative will see grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 - all raised from the 5p bag levy - awarded to greenspace projects across the county.
Bobbie Roberts, chair of the Trust, said: “It’s fantastic news that Tesco and Groundwork have chosen us as one of the three projects in this area.
“What we have in our forest school will depend on how much money we are given and this is where YOU come in! Tesco will be inviting their customers to vote on the project they like best. Voting starts on October 31 and closes on November 13.
“We are encouraging people to vote for us and tell everyone you know, their neighbours and their friends to vote for us!! With your help we can create a wonderful new learning environment for our children.”
