Fieldfisher plays key role in New Care development

The Manchester office of European law firm Fieldfisher acted on behalf of development-led care home operator New Care, to secure funding for a new project in Chester.

The state-of-the-art 81-bed ‘new generation’ care facility is located on Heath Lane west of Chester City centre, an area characterised by older converted stock care facilities.

The three floor, 42,591 sq ft, purpose-built care home will provide an exceptional clinical offering including residential, general nursing and specialist dementia care services.

As one of the UK’s fastest growing care home operators, this latest offering is just one of a number of advanced developments Fieldfisher has acted on for New Care.

The development will be delivered by working with Puma Investment’s investee company Saville Services along with funding from local investors.

New Care has been working with its build partner, McGoff & Byrne - both part of The McGoff Group - to acquire the land and will continue to work in partnership to build, operate and maintain the care home.

Matt Fleetwood, Partner, Corporate at Fieldfisher said: “We were delighted to act on behalf of New Care to secure funding for this state of the art care facility. It’s great to work with another successful Manchester-based business on leading developments across the North West.

“We’ve worked with New Care on several leading projects in the past and we look forward to continuing to build on our partnership.”

Chris McGoff, CEO at New Care, comments: “We’ve worked with Fieldfisher on several successful projects so they were our natural choice when it came to supporting us in securing, and helping us to conclude our transcation with Puma Investments.”

“This is New Care’s first development arranged by Puma, although the Group have worked with them previously on numerous McGoff & Byrne projects – so it’s great to have extended that relationship to New Care.”

He added: “Fieldfisher continue to support our rapid expansion of delivering ‘new generation’ care facilities across the UK and it is brilliant to see two successful Manchester-based firms working so well together.”
