New finance deal puts expansion on the menu for Sheffield hospitality business

Sheffield-based based hospitality business Brewkitchen Limited has announced expansion plans after securing a new refinance package and funding solutions from Barclays.

Established in 2007, the company includes eateries The Graze Inn, The Cricket Inn and Rose Garden Café.

Brewkitchen is an associate business of Thornbridge Brewery set up by entrepreneur Jim Harrison and Sheffield restaurateurs Richard and Victoria Smith.

The new funding consolidates the whole group’s banking with Barclays.

Jim Harrison, chairman of Brewkitchen Limited, said: “We need to continue with our investment programme to ensure that our restaurants and bars provide quality produce sourced locally for our customers.

“Barclays supported our growth with Thornbridge Brewery so we decided to consolidate all our banking with them and the new funding will enable us to continue on our growth journey.”

The company employs over 100 staff across the Brewkitchen groups and turnover is expected to exceed £5m for the year.

Matthew Chenery, Barclays relationship director, commented: “I have been working with Jim and the Thornbridge directors for some time now to see how we can support their growth and provide the facilities to take them to the next exciting chapter for the business.

“The funding deal will provide them with more flexibility for their expansion plans and I am confident we will see this ambitious business going from strength to strength.”
