Homebuilder's project in £200,000 skills boost for Castleford
DEVELOPERS BOOST TOWN’S ECONOMY BY £200,000 BY TURNING TO LOCAL SKILLS TO CREATE “THE HOUSE THAT ’CAS’ BUILT“
MORE than £200,000 has been pumped into the Castleford economy by developers who have turned to the home-grown skills of trades people in the town to bring a collection of new homes to life.
Yorkshire-based Frontline Estates wanted to support the local community by creating jobs, and tapping into the pool of talent that exists within it, to create its latest development, Moore Park.
The site, which features 14 detached and semi-detached homes at Healdfield Road, has been named in honour of Castleford’s most famous son, the renowned sculptor and artist, Henry.
And its stand-out showhome – very much “the house that ‘Cas’ built” – will be opening its doors for the first time next Saturday (October 29), between 10am and 4pm, as the development launches to the public and local businesses.
The homes, which range in price from £205,000 to £250,000, are being marketed through the Wakefield office of Linley & Simpson. Its branch manager Emma Hodgson said:
“Moore Park is very much a Castleford success story. The development has breathed further new life into this part of town and will help meet the current demand for brand new homes.
“It is fitting that the skills of people living on its doorstep have come to the fore in turning the plans into reality.
“The developers were very keen to give something back to the community and, as a result invested in the skills of local trades and crafts people wherever they could.
“This weekend’s open day is not just designed for buyers keen to see first-hand the development for themselves – it is also an opportunity to showcase these home-grown skills to other local businesses.”
The link with the arts have been further strengthened with each different house design taking its name from galleries which have exhibited the work of Henry Moore –such as The Tate and The Hepworth. This year marks the 30th anniversary of his death.
The £3m development features a choice of three and four bedroom properties, in a range of different designs to suit buyers’ lifestyles and budgets. Each comes with a 10-year building warranty for ultimate peace of mind.
Emma added: “All the homes on Moore Park are traditional and welcoming in their design, and create particular appeal for young and growing families – both the Castleford Academy and local primary schools are within walking distance. The quiet, safe environment of a cul-de-sac is an added bonus for them too.
“Nestling on the edge of the town centre, all the amenities and transport links needed for daily life are on the doorstep.”
Each home provides accommodation over three levels. The ground floor offers an ideal dining room/kitchen area with bi-folding doors onto a rear garden. Also at ground floor level is the integral garage and a downstairs WC.
Upstairs to the first floor, each property boasts a large L-shaped living room plus a well-proportioned master bedroom with en-suite facilities.
The second floor has two double bedrooms and the family bathroom, while the larger properties also have a fourth bedroom/study.
