Turnover up 78% for Manchester recruitment firm The Candidate
Digital recruitment firm The Candidate has given its office space and headcount a boost after seeing a 78% uplift in turnover.
After raising its revenue from £450k in the 2014/15 year to £803k in 2015/16, the company increased its workforce to 20 and doubled its Manchester footprint.
The Candidate is expecting to grow by a further 60% and achieve a revenue of £1.3m as it approaches its fifth year in business in 2016/17.
The Quay Street-based firm said its client count almost doubled year on year in 2016, with media agency MediaCom, fashion retailers JD Sports and Missguided, and WeBuyAnyCar.com among its key clients.
Further, The Candidate expanded earlier this year with the launch of its new IT and tech department to deal with an increased demand for skilled tech professionals in the North’s fast-growing digital sector.
Brian Matthews, The Candidate’s managing partner, said of the growth: “It’s been a busy period here at The Candidate as we move offices to accommodate new staff and departments.
“Recently, we’ve really seen all our ambitious plans come together in the form of the office expansion, significant client wins, placement of the UK’s leading candidates, awards, accolades, and more and more people wanting to work for us, which is fantastic.”
Speaking further, Brian said the digital sector in the North West, and specifically Manchester, “is such an exciting place to be right now”.
He continued: “It’s an area that is changing constantly and really keeps us on our toes! We’ve been committed from the outset to actively tackling the skills shortage – something we’ll continue to prioritise in coming months and years.”
