Engineers and business development managers sought by fire & security firm

Big new contracts won with Merseytravel, Coleg Cambria and Flintshire County Council have prompted expansion by Jackson Fire & Security.

It is also now searching for new business development managers, as it continues to push forward with growth.

The Mold-headquartered firm is seeking engineers experienced in fire and security alarm design and installation, as well as fire extinguisher servicing.

Founder and managing director Steve Jackson (pictured) said that good rewards were on offer, as well as opportunities for career progression.

“We offer a competitive starting salary and a system of bonuses. As different departments grow, we are creating new roles for supervisors and other senior staff to help run the company.

“New positions are offered internally first, so there are good opportunities here for engineers who want promotion to take on bigger roles.”

From modest beginnings in the garden shed at its founder’s former home in Mynydd Isa in 1991, Jackson Fire & Security has grown to employ 35 engineers and staff.

In the last five years it has started to expand across the UK and now has branches in Liverpool, Leeds, Warrington, Wirral, Cambridge, Bury and Milton Keynes.

Recent investment at head office have included commissioning of a £30,000 bespoke training room to enable engineers to brush up on their security alarm repair and maintenance skills.

It boasts seven complete alarm systems from including from Siemens and Honeywell, for new recruits to train on.

The firm has also started an apprenticeship scheme for school- or college-leavers to earn while they train to be fire and security alarm engineers.

Applications are invited from anyone who wants to gain external qualifications in fire and security alarm design and installation, as well as fire extinguisher servicing.

The programme is also open to anyone who is part-way through or has recently part-completed training to be an electrician and wants to progress in a niche area of the trade.
