Nursery enters final stages of Bristol Standard
A Paignton day nursery has achieved a milestone in a quality assurance scheme that measures improvement in its standards of childcare.
The Mama Bear’s Day nursery on Queen Elizabeth Drive is working with the Bristol Standard for the third year running and has just completed its second interim submission.
The setting manager Faye Lawlor said ’This quality assurance scheme shows parents that we are committed to our continual self-improvement, and that we are constantly raising our own standards of performance.
’We view our self-development as a continuous journey, rather than a specific destination, and the Bristol Standard helps us measure our improvement.
‘Early Years development plays an enormous part in shaping the way a child grows up, so it’s important to us to continually re-evaluate and improve the level of care we provide.
‘We look after children aged between three months and five years, and we have two outdoor and three indoor playrooms to cater to the different ages and stages of development’.
Mama Bear’s Day Nursery Group was started up by husband and wife team Bev and Tony Driffield. Established in 2002 the group now includes 22 nursery settings in Bristol, Somerset and Devon. Queen Elizabeth Drive is one of three settings in Paignton.
The family run organisation has gained a reputation in the South West for its standards of high quality, affordable care.
Mama Bear’s Midvale Road, Paignton nursery was recently highly commended by the Nursery World Awards for its commitment to working with parents.
