Southport-headquartered Fletchers Solicitors to establish 50-strong Manchester team

Law firm Fletchers Solicitors is set to open its first office in Manchester.

Located on the 15th floor of St James’ Tower on Charlotte Street, the office will employ up to 50 people to create one of the city’s biggest specialist clinical negligence teams.

Following the expansion, Fletchers will continue to operate its national HQ in Southport, where it employs 340 people across its clinical negligence, serious personal injury and administrative teams.

The new office is the latest stage in the company’s ongoing growth strategy, which has seen it expand from a team of 90 people in 2012 as it aims to become a top 100 UK law firm by 2018.

This year, Fletchers saw its pre-tax profits increase 50% against revenue growth of 37%.

Fletchers CEO Ed Fletcher said: “Manchester was the logical choice for our second location, with the city firmly established as the capital of UK clinical negligence practice.

“We will be aiming to add the brightest and best lawyers to our already successful team. Maintaining the same working practices and culture that led to Fletchers being named as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work earlier this year.”

He continued: “The growth that has led us to opening the Manchester office is the result of ongoing innovation that touches every part of our business model.

“From a marketing plan that has given us control over our own pipeline of new cases, to the introduction of non-legal specialists as non-executive directors to help expand our vision and skills.”

Speaking further, Ed said the firm’s approach is increasingly being seen as “the model for future law firms that want sustainable success in a rapidly changing legal sector”.

He added: “As a result, we are now recognised by leaders in our field with accreditations from Legal 500, Chambers and our Investors in People Gold Award.”

Fletchers’ Manchester base will be operational by February 2017
