Mama Bear to open new pre-school

Families living and working in Whitchurch will benefit from the addition of a new Mama Bear’s Day Nursery and Pre-School which is due to open in Spring 2017.

The Bristol-based nursery group has announced it will be opening a new pre-school at the site on Bristol Road in April to offer high-quality childcare to 32 children aged between three and five.

The opening will mark the 23rd nursery in the South West for the group which is run by husband and wife team Tony and Bev Driffield.

Located conveniently opposite Whitchurch Primary School the setting will boast extensive off-street parking meaning parents can drop off and pick up children easily and those with children at both the pre-school and the primary school will be able to use the car park for both drop offs.

Owner of Mama Bear’s Day Nursery Bev Driffield said: “We are so excited to be opening a new pre-school in Whitchurch and adding to our portfolio of much-loved nurseries in Bristol. We are accepting 3-5 year olds at this setting as well as rising twos.

“It is a fantastically convenient location for families in the area, especially those with children also at the Primary School, and it will provide quality childcare and early education as with our other award-winning nurseries.

“Outdoor play is hugely important to us at Mama Bear’s so we are installing a purpose-built, landscaped garden which is as big as the nursery itself, to inspire imaginative play and promote healthy exercise.

“Our experienced team will design activities to support each child’s development and progression helping them prepare for the transition to primary school. Freshly prepared, nutritional meals will be cooked on site and included in all sessions at no additional charge.”

Mama Bear’s Day Nursery is a family-run business founded in 2002 with its offices in Hanham, Bristol. With settings across Bristol, Somerset and Devon the day nurseries are aimed at providing children with their first vital level of education to give them a head-start when they start at primary school.

Bev continued: “The Whitchurch nursery will be run to the same high standards as our other nurseries with a friendly atmosphere, a home-from-home environment and quality staff and resources.

“We put a massive focus on the quality of care we provide. Mama Bear’s has gained a reputation in the South West for offering the highest quality, affordable care and has been awarded an Outstanding grade by OFSTED every year since 2009.

“It is this commitment to quality that has allowed us to grow to 23 nurseries and we look forward to caring for more children in the years to come.

“Free places for three and four year olds will be available at Whitchurch and we are more than happy to explain how this works and help with any paper work that may be necessary.

“The nursery will have 32 places and we are expecting high demand so please register your interest early to avoid disappointment.”
