The Old Bill restaurant in Oldham secures £180k funding boost

The restaurateur family behind The Old Bill restaurant in Oldham have secured a six-figure funding boost from Barclays.

The bank’s small business arm, Barclays Business, provided the Bissolati family with more than £180k to support the purchase of the premises.

The Old Bill is a second-generation family-run Italian dining venue that includes The Coal Hole cocktail bar and the White Rooms function suite.

Director Paolo Bissolati said: “Barclays have shown great faith in our business and we are very excited about the opportunities which lie ahead.

“The Odeon Cinema Complex is due to open shortly providing a great opportunity to attract more clientele.”

He added: “The business is in a great position to grow over the next few years and we are grateful for the continued support of Barclays, who are an integral part of our team.”

Barclays Business development manager Matthew Heaton and Barclays Business manager Wayne Dixon worked with John Haynes from advisory firm Key Commercial Finance Solutions Ltd in structuring the deal.

Wayne said: “By working closely and really understanding the business, Barclays has been able to support the Bissolati family and provide them with a tangible asset protecting them from future rate rises.

“We are confident they can capitalise on the restaurant’s enviable location to attract many new customers to this fantastic venue.”

Matthew Heaton commented: “We believe the end of the recession is paving the way for dynamic people who want to run businesses they are passionate about, and we want to help them achieve those ambitions, in the right way.”

Key Commercial Finance’s John Haynes said: “We are committed to getting the best deal for our clients from the whole of the market.

“We have worked with Barclays on a number of deals for our clients and always found them to be commercially minded and competitive in their approach with a real can do attitude.”
