TyneIdols Christmas Party announced!
To celebrate the enormous wealth of talent born of our region, TyneIdols create, organise and host unforgettable experiences, promotions and tours throughout the North East.
Their extraordinary ‘Evenings with…’ and Special Events attract some very special guests indeed. Their hugely popular Music, Film & Cultural Heritage Tours aboard a classic 70 seat double decker bus, guided by two local heroes-in-residence — music historian TV producer Chris Phipps of The Tube fame, and drummer with the legendary folk-rock band Lindisfarne, Ray Laidlaw — provide hours of great local fact-finding fun.
Tours this year included a Mouth of The Tyne “Gob On The Tyne” Punk Tour, a ‘Kynren’ outing, Real Ale Tours, The Lindisfarne Story which incorporated a trip to Holy Island, three ‘one-off’ “Him Off The Viz” Tours with Simon Donald and Alex Collier as well as numerous private event trips. The new 2017 tours will be on sale soon.
To celebrate a successful year of TyneIdols Tours –organisers are planning a Christmas Party on Wednesday 21 December from 8pm – 1am at The Exchange in North Shields NE30 1SE (formerly the Saville Exchange).
Entertainment for the evening includes a performance by North East legends, The Happy Cats, who have accumulated an almost cult-like following over the years. Their unique sound has been described as a mix of Celtic and Geordie folk with a touch of rock and roll thrown in!
Also on the bill is Steffen Peddie, the intrepid Geordie stand up comedian actor and ex-pro wrestler who found fame playing Big Keith in BBC2’s sitcom, Hebburn, set in the real-life Tyneside town.
Steffen regularly performs at the Funny Bones chain of clubs in the North East and runs the Big Owl Comedy Club in his hometown, but also makes regular appearances at comedy festivals across the UK.
Ray Laidlaw says:
“Anyone that has joined us on one of our TyneIdols tours, will know to expect a fantastic evening’s entertainment!
It’s definitely a ‘Let Your Hair Down’ double bill with the ever popular Happy Cats and funny man Steffen Peddie lined up……oh, and as it’s Christmas you can be sure there’ll a surprise or two thrown in for good measure.
We hope as many people as possible will join us for what is sure to be a great night out!“
