Sheffield's £11m Gatecrasher Apartments welcome first tenants

A new £11m student complex on the site of the former Gatecrasher nightclub in Sheffield has officially opened its doors to tenants.

The first residents have now moved in to Gatecrasher Apartments, which is located on the corner of Arundel Street and Matilda Street in Sheffield city centre.

The site has been transformed into student accommodation, providing 243 beds, mostly in clusters of three, four and five beds, all en-suite.

There are also 90 one-bed studios each with a kitchen with integrated full-size oven and appliances, breakfast bar, large fitted wardrobe, settee, double bed and 40-inch Smart TV and includes 50GB broadband.

Communal features include a gym, cinema room, a lounge and an internal courtyard landscaped as a record turntable to reflect the previous use of the land.

Gatecrasher Apartments is part of the West One accommodation portfolio that already embraces student flats in the Sellers Wheel in Arundel Street, Huttons Buildings in West Street and at Broomgrove Apartments on Broomgrove Road, as well as the West One residential, leisure and commercial development in Fitzwilliam Street.
