Shropshire Collaborative Lawyers Group post for Sandy Edwards
Sandy Edwards, Senior Associate at Aaron & Partners solicitors has been appointed as the new Liaison Officer for the Shropshire Collaborative Lawyers Group.
Collaborative law is a very successful method of resolving family disputes without resorting to the courts, delivering swift and cost-effective solutions to disputes.
Collaborative lawyers use mediation-style techniques to reach a common agreement in their clients’ best interests. Their goal is always to resolve matters in a constructive way.
Each party in the process is represented by a collaborative lawyer throughout to advise not just on legal points, but also the practical aspects of any proposed resolution.
All parties retain the ability to find solutions themselves rather than having solutions imposed upon them. It is private, confidential and less humiliating and stressful than the court process and in some cases can be completed in a matter of weeks.
As the Liaison Officer for the Shropshire Collaborative Lawyers Group, Sandy now has a key role within the group where members discuss best practice and develop inter-disciplinary working practices. Often Collaborative lawyers will also invite other local professionals including Family Therapists and Financial Advisers to provide expert insight and assistance into specific cases of relationship breakdown.
“My collaborative practice is growing,” said Sandy. “The group has enabled me to get to know other likeminded practitioners with whom I have been able to build up trust.
“It must be a good thing for separating couples to be supported in the collaborative process by two lawyers with the same aim in mind as them, being a timely, cost effective and fair outcome for their family as a whole.”
Sandy can be contacted by e-mail on sandy.edwards@aaronandpartners.com or by phone on 01743 453 689. You can also read more about the collaborative process by visiting the Shropshire Collaborative Lawyers website www.shropshirecollaborativelawyers.co.uk.
