BAM Construct UK exceeds expectations with Barco's collaboration

Part of a global construction, renovation and property management corporation, BAM Construct UK was looking for a cutting-edge collaboration system to go with its impressive new regional offices in Manchester. Together with local AV system integrator Pure AV, the BAM project team chose a solution with Barco ClickShare at its core – for the ultimate in usability, flexibility and productivity. “We have exceeded people’s expectations; in the old office presenting electronic media to a group of people was always a hassle, whilst here ClickShare makes it easy. The system is reliable and people are confident that they can walk into a meeting room with a client and everything works,” says IT Manager Daniel Chant.

Impossible to eliminate the cable clutter? BAM Construction’s old office had been filled with wires and cables, which would be ‘borrowed’ or reconfigured for each presentation. That caused setup times to rise along with the level of clutter. The new AV equipment had to be eliminate that cable clutter, while ensuring improved functionality and the ability to be adapted to different room configurations.

Estimator Colin Wills and IT Manager Daniel Chant of BAM Construct had difficulty finding an AV solution that would ensure a cable-free environment within their available budget. The perfect fit at the perfect price “They had been told that such a system would cost tens of thousands of pounds,” says Pure AV account manager Heidi Roper. “Whilst some collaboration systems can easily stretch to those sums, the requirement here was to allow meeting participants to wirelessly share content to the main display without the need to worry about cable connection.”

Barco ClickShare was the perfect fit, at the perfect price. It not only enables a cable-free environment in a straightforward, user-friendly package; it also makes it simple to manage display connections and add/subtract displays from each room setup, if needed. Much more efficient meetings The new system was installed on time and BAM is particularly enthusiastic. Meetings in the new BAM office run much more efficiently now, with the ability to share content with the main display wirelessly and easily.

The configuration of meeting rooms can be quickly changed to accommodate different groups and setups without the help of IT or facilities management personnel – saving time and resources. “With ClickShare it doesn’t matter whether it’s an internal or client facing meeting, any room user can get the relevant information onto the projection screen or TV display quickly and without fuss,” says Will.

Setting the benchmark “It’s great to go from where we were with some of the most basic meeting spaces, to now set the benchmark for the other regional offices. The clean, cablefree look of the AV provision is a key part of that,” Wills continues. There was even enough room left on the budget, courtesy of ClickShare, for BAM to add a booking system to the installation, for even more efficient meeting room use.
