Godfrey Syrett wins £1.46m contract for Glasgow student development
Newcastle-headquartered furniture manufacturer Godfrey Syrett has secured a £1.46m contract for a student accommodation scheme in Foundry Courtyard, Glasgow.
The firm will supply a range of accommodation furniture for the 536-bedroom development, as well as furnishing communal spaces, offices and reception areas, after being awarded the contract from infrastructure group Balfour Beatty.
Earlier this year Godfrey Syrett launched a dedicated fitted furniture division which works with main contractors in the construction sector on a national level, to deliver bespoke furniture solutions for new build projects within the education, defence, hospitality, commercial and healthcare sectors.
The firm has also recently announced the opening of a new dedicated accommodation showroom at its Durham manufacturing site, to showcase its newly designed range, ‘Work, Rest & Play’.
David Hall, group sales and marketing director at Godfrey Syrett said: “We are delighted to be working with Balfour Beatty on this exciting new development. Given our wealth of experience in this sector we fully understand the expectations of modern student living.
Phil Dorin, senior bid manager at Balfour Beatty Investments, said: “We chose to work with Godfrey Syrett on the Foundry Courtyard project because of the excellent quality of their products, and their control of the manufacturing and installation process from start to finish.”
