Deliveroo expands its booze on-demand offering with James Bond’s favourite bubbly brand
On-demand delivery firm Deliveroo has expanded its alcohol delivery service following a new partnership with a well-known French bubbly brand.
The startup has partnered with Veuve Clicquot to offer thirsty Londoners a more upmarket option than lagers and spirits, with deliveries to homes and workplaces across the capital in just 20 minutes.
Revellers over the Christmas period will be able to order the brand’s ‘Yellow Label Brut’ champagne, chilled and ready to drink for £52 from Deliveroo’s app, as well as three non-chilled gifting bottles.
All orders are delivered in ‘luxury and contemporary’ packaging according to Reims-based champagne house, which has a history dating back to the 1770s.
Famously, the champagne was favoured by James Bond in Ian Fleming’s original novels, Casino Royale, Diamonds Are Forever and Thunderball.
Jo Thornton, who is Managing Director of parent company Moët Hennessy UK, said it hopes the new partnership will bring ‘luxury and convenience’ to ‘discerning’ Londoners.
The new partnership follows the official launch of Deliveroo’s nationwide alcohol delivery service in June 2016, and a delivery deal with Heineken announced last month.
Deliveroo’s Head of Alcohol, Harry Tyndall, said: “All we want to do at this time of year is celebrate with our family and friends - who has time for Christmas shopping?
“Our partnership with Veuve Clicquot couldn’t have come at a more perfect time. Everyone loves a bottle of champagne, whether for the party or to receive as a gift…so let us do the work and your bottle will be with you in 20.”
