Accountancy firm BDO set to relocate to Leeds’ Central Square
BDO LLP, the accountancy and business advisory firm, is set to relocate its Leeds office in Spring 2017.
The firm, which employs nearly 150 people in the region, has taken a lease on 12,750 sq ft on the 6th Floor of Central Square on Wellington Street after ten years at Bridgewater Place.
The new premises will combine an open working environment with technology facilities to encourage collaborative and flexible working.
Terry Jones, partner and head of BDO in Leeds, said: “We were looking for a space that would give us room for growth and placed us at the centre of the Leeds business district. We’re committed to the region, which is thriving, and the active role Yorkshire plays within the North.
“Remaining within a few minutes walk of the station was a priority for us but we’re also mindful that the world of work is changing and digital connectivity for the team, clients and colleagues in the wider BDO network is essential.
“Our teams work together for clients across streams and sectors; the new office will give us more leading edge technology, flexibility with our layout and greater collaborative working space to facilitate this.”
Central Square is owned by M&G Real Estate and was developed in partnership with Marrico Asset management.
Sam Jones, asset manager at M&G Real Estate, commented: “Central Square has delivered much-needed office space to satisfy demand for high quality, well located accommodation in the heart of the business district of Leeds.
“This deal with BDO is the latest in a run of new lettings that is helping to affirm Central Square as the new heart of the business community in Leeds City Centre.”
Fox Lloyd Jones have acted as Agent to facilitate the relocation and are also project managing the fit out works.
Legal advice has been provided to BDO by Nick Cannon at Walker Morris LLP and Jim Speed at DWF acted for the developer.
