Learned about Dearborn Search and Visibility Concept

What a great class! In marketing 363, digital marketing is alive and well! We have learned so much over the course of 15 weeks! With a wide start you might not know how to even start, but at the end it got really specific and was such a useful class! I will be going over the 3 biggest things I have learned about the Dearborn search and visibility!

Google AdWords- for this class, we had to take (and hopefully pass) the google AdWords exam. The google AdWords test is taken is several parts, from the fundamentals test to the search or display exam. You have to pass the fundamentals test to start, the test is all about the basics’ of the whole program. Read the study guide about the basic test and you should pass! The second part of the test you can take is search advertising or display advertising. The search test is broader and have more parts, while the display test has less material to study the test goes more in depth of the material. I took the search test and passed with an 85%, only an 80% on the fundamentals. You will learn a ton with these tests!

Search engine optimization- This is the main subject of the class, and the subject we learned the most about! We put this knowledge into action by ranking our website within a couple of keywords. We had to do on site and off site SEO. Onsite would be putting Meta tags and categories into blog posts to get that post to stick to that keyword. Off site is very important too, maybe even more so. Getting backlinks to your site from big sites is a major thing! Those backlinks are very valuable.

Keyword research- This was also an important part of the course, where we use keyword to research what is popular and what phrases people use to look up tesla cars. Knowing how to use the keyword planner that is important to how you advertise. If you don’t know what people are searching then you might miss them! Missing potential customers is very dangerous and will lose you money. Try and get all the keywords people use, not just the most popular words that are the most expensive.

All three of these things are very important to what we learned in our marketing 363 class!
