Sky Betting & Gaming has now opened applications to its Graduate Programme.

20 new jobs created as Sky Betting & Gaming makes £500k investment

Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G), the Leeds-based independent online gambling firm, is set to invest £500k in the second year of its Graduate Programme.

The tech firm’s investment will create 20 new full time positions in the commercial, finance, software academy and operations streams.

The company is one of the fastest growing digital businesses, outperforming the market every year for the last five years and generating over 80% of revenue from mobile apps.

Sb&G has developed technology capable of handling 42,000 bet views per minute, 9,000 bets per minute and 11 million financial transactions every Saturday afternoon.

This latest investment takes SB&G’s total support for the development of early career initiatives for 2016/17 to £3m and the total number of early career opportunities created by the company to 70.

A commitment averaging £60k per recruit was made by SB&G in its 2016 graduate programme, which included a software academy boot camp to fast track skill levels.

Retention of home-grown talent was also high, with just under 70% of recruits coming from universities in Yorkshire, including Hull University, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds University, Sheffield University, Sheffield Hallam University and Bradford University.
