SEO solution for business
As search engine algorithms grow consistently more complex with each passing year, it has given SEO the room to become a booming industry in itself. While most large corporations and business houses have their own SEO teams, the smaller startups either use the “IT guys” or hire remote SEO services for optimizing their web content.
Needless to say, the outcomes in each case are quite different. We do not mean the larger companies have it any easier or better, but they definitely travel a much luxurious path to search engine optimization. The smaller companies on the other hand are constrained by their budget and are usually dependent on fresher strategies that change every waking moment.
While walking down the path of search engine optimization a single mistake can cost your website thousands of followers and days on the second or even third page of Google SERPs. With the beginning of a new year, let us tell you about the SEO mistakes you must avoid to Engage TheCrowd and enjoy online stardom –
- Do not be tempted by spammy links - Many companies realize that their blog content requires backlinks. They think about the quantity but not about the quality of the links and end up in Google’s “black-book”. This was a well-known practice during the times of Black Hat SEO, but with the advent of Hummingbird and its progenies, websites with spammy links are pushed down the SRL beyond visibility.
- Stuff your turkey, not your content – over-stuffing is a crime most veteran websites have committed a long time ago. The smarter websites, who keep a track of time and trend, have corrected themselves and kept the keyword distribution to a maximum of 6% (for 1500-2000 word articles). Hummingbird made it possible for Google search engines to understand the context of the keywords and entire phrases enwrapping them. So non-contextual stuffing of keywords is definitely not the norm or edge anymore for ranking high on the SRL.
- Don’t be a copycat – lack of original content is a cardinal sin for all websites and blogs. Take a look at the top ranked content on the first page of Google SERP – they are all over 1000 words long, they have original ideas and they have their sources clearly mentioned with viable links. While quoting celebrities and taking passages from impactful pieces is encouraged, citing their sources and providing active links is also highly recommended.
- Go mobile – even tribes in the Andaman Islands have mobile phones, so why not try using a mobile-friendly website template for a change? It has been shown that 80% of your target consumers use smartphones to shop and over 1.2 billion people across the world access the internet from the mobile phones. Keeping yourself restricted to desktop sites is nothing but stifling your website traffic before it grows out of infancy.
Although SEO requirements are quite different for each agency and website, we assure you that these 4 points are all you will need to start off your 2017 SEO on a positive note.
