Elliott joins the apprenticeship scheme at Conroy Brook
SHEFFIELD teenager Elliott Stork is the latest addition to the apprenticeship scheme at award winning Yorkshire property developer Conroy Brook.
Elliott, who is 17 and lives in Chapeltown, Sheffield, is a student at Barnsley College.
He is now working with the Conroy Brook masons on the prestigious Swaine Meadow development at Hoylandswaine, Penistone, as well as continuing his bricklaying course on day release at the college.
“We knew as soon as we looked at Elliott’s CV that he could be a valuable addition to our team,” said Conroy Brook Construction Director John Rodda.
“As a pupil at Yewlands School in Sheffield he was a Master Cutler’s Ambassador, a school counsellor and a peer mentor and reading ambassador so it was quite clear that he had a great deal he wanted to give.
“If he brings that same level of enthusiasm to his training with us we are confident he will develop a great future in the construction industry.”
Elliott’s new apprenticeship is part of Conroy Brook’s ongoing commitment to helping the industry wide skills gap.
The company also assured Barnsley Council of their intention to take on a Barnsley College student when Swaine Meadow went before the town’s Planning Committee.
