Over 1000 jobs up for grabs at Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is creating over 1,000 jobs in preparation for its busiest summer ever.

The region’s job seekers are being invited to an event later this month to learn more about the roles available, which include receptionists, security officers, bus drivers and meet and greet drivers.

Manchester Airport, which is now ranked among the 20 busiest airports in Europe, is also working with Greater Manchester’s local authorities to allow more people to find out about the positions available.

CEO Ken O’Toole said: “Manchester Airport plays a vital role in providing international connectivity for the North and we are pleased to have delivered 34 consecutive months of growth, offering leisure and business passenger a broader choice of destinations than ever before in our history.

“But what is particularly pleasing about this growth is that it creates employment and training opportunities for people across the region, as well as a number of wider economic benefits.”

He continued: “This year is set to be Manchester Airports busiest ever to date and the recruitment for these roles demonstrates the positive impact our growth has.

“We are looking forward to staging this jobs fair, along with other events across the region, to give as many people as possible access to employment at the airport.”

Manchester Airport is one of the biggest employers in the North West, with over 21k people directly employed on site.

The airport supports a further 45k jobs across the region.

The recruitment event will be held at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, on February 22.
