Workspace completes fit out of Yorkshire House

WORKSPACE Design & Build has completed the £2 million fit out of Yorkshire House in Leeds.

The 90,000 sq ft Greek Street office building, owned by FORE Partnership, was officially launched to the market in December 2016 following the refurbishment.

Having secured the contract in January last year the Manchester based contractor completed the fit-out in 30 weeks, creating spaces within the building to accommodate both the traditional and creative sectors.

Yorkshire House, situated in the heart of Leeds City Centre business district, has 18,000 sq ft of office space still available to let.

Workspace managing director Russell Davis, said: “We were delighted to have been appointed by FORE to carry out the major category A refurbishment.

“Awarded by RBA and worth over £2 million, the building is in the heart of Leeds business community and we are thrilled to add this prestigious project to our repertoire of works.”

Architects Percy & Co together with local firm DLG designed the floorplates to cater for both larger businesses and smaller start-ups.

Workspace was commissioned by FORE to carry out the refurbishment in keeping with its Responsible Real Estate agenda. The Yorkshire House project was completed using eco-friendly materials acknowledging the trend of external space being used to provide a responsible environment for the community.

To achieve BREEAM’s ‘Excellent’ sustainability rating, Workspace used green construction practices and took part in a considerate construction scheme ensuring the local community were not affected by the works.

Basil Demeroutis, managing partner of FORE Partnership, said: “Yorkshire House and Hub, is one of the most sustainable, green office buildings in Leeds. It is proving to be a very successful development for us and endorsing our ‘Responsible Real Estate’ philosophy, which focuses on low carbon strategies, social impact, placemaking and design, a strategy that we believe enhances rental income and improves returns. “Our development is a significant part of the regeneration of Greek Street and provides trendy flexible and creative office space for small and medium-sized businesses that want a central location.”

Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield are leading the letting campaign.
