Ian Lenehan, Better Placed Recruitment

Better Placed Recruitment has hired Ian Lenehan for the role of manager of agency recruitment.

Prior to his appointment, Ian gained recruiting knowledge within the creative industry at Forward Role and Blue Skies.

Working at Better Placed, Ian will bring his expertise to the team specialising in agency, creative, digital and PR recruitment across Yorkshire and the North West.

Ian said: “I’m delighted to be joining Better Placed as the company goes from strength to strength.

“It has built an excellent reputation for placing the right candidates with marketing agencies across the UK.”

Elsewhere, Better Placed’s agency division has welcomed two new faces, George Jackson and Sarah Chester.

Kathryn Hargreaves, Newtons Solicitors

Newtons Solicitors has announced the appointment of Yorkshire commercial property solicitor Kathryn Hargreaves.

Kathryn is joining the Knaresborough-headquartered company after working for 12 years at the Leeds office of national law firm DAC Beachcroft.

In her former role, Kathryn was an associate within the real estate team, where she provided legal advice on commercial property issues.

She said: “I’m delighted to be part of a fast-growing regional law firm with an opportunity to handle a wider range of commercial property matters and create strong professional relationships with clients.”

Newtons MD Chris Newton commented: “Our reputation is enabling us to attract specialist solicitors from national firms.

“Kathryn is a well-known, highly-experienced senior solicitor who will help us continue to build our successful commercial property team.”

Kate Maybury, Harrogate and District Law Society

Kate Maybury, a senior associate at Harrogate-based law firm Raworths, has been chosen as the new president of the Harrogate and District Law Society.

Over the coming 12 months, Kate will oversee training and education and communicate on behalf of Law Society members as she represents the district’s legal profession.

Kate, who specialises in trusts, wills and estates, said of her appointment: “I am delighted to accept this prestigious position and look forward to supporting the profession in the Harrogate district over the coming year.”

The Harrogate and District Law Society was founded almost 100 years ago. Today, the district is home to more than 350 solicitors.

Kate added: “This district’s legal fraternity continues to thrive and accommodates high calibre firms and individuals who enjoy a significant regional and national presence.”

Craig Bagley, Companion Stairlifts and Bathing

Leeds’ Companion Stairlifts and Bathing has appointed Craig Bagley as its new senior operations manager.

In his new role, Craig will be responsible for improving efficiency, using his experience of increasing productivity for a number of large firms in the UK and overseas, including energy giant British Gas.

His remit will include managing and developing performance across the installation and customer service teams in Companion’s stairlift and assisted bathing operations.

David Harrison, sales and marketing director at Companion, said: “Craig has fantastic experience of managing business improvement projects, and his appointment will help towards our growth plans for 2017.

“We have restructured and strengthened the senior management team to reflect the increased scale of our operation and to provide the organisational capability we need to stay ahead of the competition and achieve our ambitions.”

He added: “I’m confident Craig will prove to be a huge asset to the business and a valued team member.”

Craig commented: “I’m looking forward to working with David and the rest of the team to support and develop the business at this very exciting time.
