Regency Residential submits planning for Chesser House

Regency Residential, the property and advisory firm, plans to transform 1970s-office block Chesser House into 163 apartments - and breathe new life into a popular suburb of Edinburgh.

In partnership with Intro Developments, the application will transform the eight-storey building into a combination of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

There is a strong interest in high specification apartments in this area as both homes and for investment.

Edinburgh ranks in the global top 20 property investment index for the second consecutive quarter. This development is situated in a prominent position on the North Side of Gorgie Road and will provide the area with much needed modern accommodation with parking.

Rana Ashkar business development manager at Regency Residential, said: “The combination of Regency Residential producing financial secure property investments and homes, alongside the prime location of Chesser House, makes this a key development.

“The area has a strong demand for high specification apartments and Regency Residential has a history of bringing homes or investments that are of higher standard that are financially protected to the UK housing market.”

Ashkar added: “Our proposals for Chesser House will not only provide the area with much needed modern accommodation with parking for those investing or wanting to do business in the area, but also help revitalise the whole community.”

Regency Residential is backed by private Trusts and Funds and, as a result, does not require investor money as capital for any of the developments. The company, which has a national and international focus, only requires a £1,000 deposit reservation fee, which is then taken off the 10% deposit on exchange.

Its property pipeline of 4,500 residential units include and are not limited to conversions and new build projects, some of which are part of schemes that are in the process of being sold to the public, are in planning or are due to go to planning.

Michael Fenlon sales and marketing director for regency, added: “Our offer is such a rarity, especially when compared with other companies in the investment market, as essentially our clients’ money is protected and not used to fund any of the build.”

Regency Residential boasts a pipeline of property, with developments in the north west, Birmingham, Yorkshire, Scotland, Ireland, Bristol, London and the home counties.
