Blackstone Solicitors expands to help UK’s Iranian community
Blackstone Solicitors has expanded its services with the launch of a new Iran Desk.
The Cheshire-headquartered law firm, which earlier this year announced the opening of an office in Mayfair, has chosen Iran-born Farsi speaker Rokhsareh Vahid to head up its new offer.
Founded by Emma Nawaz in 2010, Blackstone specialises in commercial litigation, corporate legal services, property law for residential and commercial clients and family law, wills and probate.
The firm has continued to grow in the years since, announcing a turnover of £1m in 2016.
In the 2014/15 year, Blackstone took on and won cases against high street banks over accusations of racial discrimination against British citizens with Iranian backgrounds, or Iranians who live in the UK.
Blackstone MD Emma Nawaz said: “We have an increasing number of Iranian clients and undoubtedly this decision to set up a specific Iran desk will allow us to provide invaluable advice and support in relation to business ventures in the UK.”
Commenting on the expansion, Rokhsareh Vahid said: “Blackstone Solicitors is well-regarded for vigorously representing the Iranian community.
“I practiced law similarly in the United States and I am delighted to join such a professional and passionate team of like-minded brilliant lawyers.”
She added: “I am thrilled to head up the Iran Desk and to further develop the Iranian business. We aim to become the trusted legal advocates for all Iranians.”
