Discount car specialist launches public servant leasing service

Motor Source Group, the online car dealership, has launched motorsourceleasing.com, a new vehicle leasing, finance and sourcing service to cut the cost of motoring for public service workers in the UK.

The nationwide service builds on Motor Source’s existing discounted car business, which is popular with police, NHS and fire service personnel, by providing current and former UK public servants with an alternative way of acquiring a new vehicle. Other qualifying professions include the prison service, military and teaching.

Customers can obtain a wide range of cars, vans, minibuses and even trucks through Motor Source Leasing on flexible business or personal contract hire terms. Vehicles are available with low initial deposits on a range of contract lengths. Manufacturer warranties, vehicle tax and breakdown cover are included on all contracts as standard.

Steve Thornton, managing director of Motor Source Group, says: “Leasing is becoming a very popular way of buying new cars. It is cheaper than buying cars outright, customers can get a new car every two or three years and there is no risk of depreciation. With our new Motor Source Leasing service we are helping public servants cut their cost of motoring and extending our offers to their friends and family too. It’s a flexible, no risk way of driving a new vehicle at a lower cost.”

With the launch of motorsourceleasing.com, Motor Source is also creating a ‘friends and family’ scheme to make its new service more widely available. Offers available through the new service can be extended to any UK-based motorist referred to Motor Source by a current or former public sector employee.

Personal car leasing statistics

According to the Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), the value of the UK’s personal car leasing sector grew by 42 per cent to reach £1.52 billion in 2016. The FLA has also said that personal contract hire (PCH) arrangements now account for eight per cent of new car finance arrangements. The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association stated in January that the personal leasing portion of its member fleet grow by 13 percent to 1.6 million vehicles in 2016.
