Senior appointment for Higgs' Corporate team
A senior commercial lawyer has joined the expanding Corporate Team at leading West Midlands law firm Higgs & Sons.
Peter Manford joins Higgs as Commercial Partner from Knights. He brings with him a wealth of business experience specialising in all forms of commercial contractual services particularly in the fields of outsourcing, supply chain, pharmaceuticals and education.
He said: “I am delighted to have joined Higgs & Sons team of specialist lawyers and am very much looking forward to promoting the firm’s services within the existing client base as well as looking to the acquisition of new clients.
“Higgs is renowned throughout the Midlands for their ambition and vision and I had no hesitation in taking the opportunity to be part of their plans for future growth.”
Peter began his career in London, but has worked in the Midlands for much of the last 20 years, including time as Commercial Director of a pharmaceuticals company which during his tenure more than doubled its value.
He was a partner at Eversheds for 17 years, partner at Mills & Reeve for three and then partner at Martineau for more than six years.
Paul Hunt, Managing Partner at Higgs, said: “We are delighted to welcome Peter, and will benefit from his many years of experience. He will play a crucial role in delivering a full range of corporate and commercial services and will be a great addition to the team.
“We pride ourselves at Higgs on continually adding strength and depth to all of our departments, and the appointment of a lawyer of Peter’s calibre reinforces our strategy to enhance the service we offer to clients.”
Outside of work, Peter is married with two children, describes himself as a ‘petrol head’ and enjoys photography, skiing and all things IT.
Higgs & Sons, based at offices on the Waterfront Business Park in Brierley Hill, boasts more than 200 employees.
