Sheffield city centre’s Furnival House now fully let
Furnival House, located in close proximity to Sheffield’s forthcoming £480m retail quarter development in the city centre, is now fully let.
Sheffield Citizen’s Advice Bureau has taken 4,500 sq ft on the second floor of the seven-storey building.
Shelter, the national campaign for the homeless, has also recommitted to the building and expanded taking space on the third floor, creating 20 jobs.
The 1970s blue glass fronted building, which features retail and office accommodation over ground and seven upper floors with a large car park, is situated in a corner position on the southern side of Furnival Gate, at its junction with Eyre Street.
The building formed part of The Moor Quarter regeneration scheme, a joint venture between Sheffield City Council and Scottish Widows Investment Property Partnership Trust.
Ben White, associate at the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, which has marketed the building for client Enfield High Street (AG19) Ltd, said: “The Moor redevelopment and the nearby retail quarter project will transform this area’s shopping and leisure and provide a fantastic retail offering in the city centre.
“This is an up and coming location and offered a very competitive rental price. Shelter and the other tenants chose the building because of its cost effective accommodation and location.
“We are pleased to have completed the last piece of the jigsaw in filling this building.”
Current occupiers include Night Time Adventures Limited, Anglian Windows Limited, Outpost Wargames Limited, NCP, Sheffield Occupational Health Advisory, Royal Voluntary Service, Northern Powergrid (Yorkshire)plc, and Vodafone Limited.
The Moor Markets retail development opened in 2013, while phase two is nearing completion and includes flagship retailer Primark with The Light, a 9-screen cinema due to open mid April.
A further 11 other retailers and restaurants will complete the scheme.
In addition, HSBC is set to become the first anchor tenant in the new retail quarter after taking out a 15-year lease, which will incorporate 140,000 sq ft of office space and a rooftop terrace. Construction of the quarter is now underway with completion due in Spring 2019.
