Shakespeare Martineau backs Qatar Conference
The Qatar-UK Business & Investment Forum, held at the ICC in Birmingham (March 28), is welcoming a contingent of Qatari business leaders and investors to help deliver on Midlands Engine promise.
Shakespeare Martineau, a key sponsor of the Department for International Trade event, sees the forum as an opportunity to help encourage overseas investment into the region in the run up to the start of Brexit negotiations and reinforces the firm’s commitment to supporting the local business community by nurturing international relationships.
Joined by Birmingham City Council leaders, delegates from the Department of International Trade and 700 members of the business community, lively debate and an eclectic mix of views is expected.
Adrian Bland, head of commercial property at law firm Shakespeare Martineau and key speaker at the event, said:
“With Brexit negotiations on the horizon, overseas investors are seeking security for their investments and if past experience is anything to go by, the commitment to fairness shown by the UK’s judicial system, combined with the pro-business agenda shown by many local planning teams, could see levels of inward investment rise further in the year ahead. This conference will do just that – show the region’s commitment, stability, security and commercial resilience post-Brexit. The region is not only is open for business but is a great place to do business in and will not be stunted by uncertainties felt by Brexit.
“Encouraging investors to buy early in the growth curve will be essential to paving a new way of business not only for the region, but the UK as a whole. Attracting the support and interest of such an event, is testament to the region’s vibrant business community and we are pleased to be a part of it.”
