Bolton law firm Keoghs expands into Scotland
Defendant law firm Keoghs is expanding its geographic reach this month with a new office in Scotland.
The opening of the Bolton-headquartered company’s new base, located in the heart of Glasgow, will see four partners appointed during the next month.
Two of the new partners, Stefanie Johnston and Douglas Cowan, have already joined.
Keoghs’ Scotland team will focus on the needs of insurers and compensators across the country, delivering on client requirements for a range of claim types.
The firm’s move into Scotland is the latest in a series of expansions in 2017 that included the opening of a London office.
Earlier this year, the company took on eight new employees through its Sector Based Work Academy initiative.
John Whittle, Keoghs’ chief executive, said: “This is an exciting period for Keoghs as our plans for expansion gather pace.
“Opening an office in Scotland is a vital strategic element for our long term growth, allowing us to stay at the forefront of legal services for the insurance industry across the UK.”
He added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome such a talented and experienced team to the firm and look forward to providing Scotland with the market leading service for which Keoghs are renowned.”
New partner Stefanie Johnston said helping to spearhead Keoghs’ new presence in Scotland is a “truly exciting opportunity”.
She commented: “Whilst, to an extent, my initial focus will be on the expansion of Keoghs’ services to the shipping, transport and leisure sectors across the UK, I am looking forward to working with all areas of the organisation to continue the quality of service already provided throughout England and Wales.”
Her fellow founding partner of the Glasgow office, Douglas Cowan, said: “It is tremendously exciting to join Keoghs and the opportunities are great, especially given the diverse experience of all of the partners that will be joining the Glasgow office.
“I am very confident that we will be able to continue the success that Keoghs has delivered in England and Wales by delivering a seamless, first class service to clients in Scotland.”
