Consortium acquires Blackpool’s 45-bed Henson Hotel for almost £600k

A hospitality consortium has acquired the Henson Hotel in Blackpool for a six-figure sum.

The PM Group of Hotels Ltd bought the site, its first in Blackpool, off a guide price of £599k.

The organisation’s international hotel portfolio spans the UK, India, North Africa and the Caribbean.

Tim Teo, director of the PM Group, said: “We are delighted to open our portfolio in Blackpool starting with the Henson Hotel.

“The Henson is a landmark for us, we currently have 400 hotels under revenue management but we have plans to add many more properties under the direct management model which we believe will give our portfolio a better balance.”

Speaking further, Tim said he believes Blackpool still has “huge potential” for hoteliers “with a modern approach”.

He continued: “We bring a 21st-century outlook combined with traditional values and look forward to being part of the local business community in Blackpool.”

Following the acquisition, Henson Hotel will continued to run as usual with no break in service.

The deal was brokered by property valuer and surveyor Fleurets.

Lesley Watmough, Fleurets’ divisional director, commented: “This 45-bedroom hotel has proved extremely popular throughout the country, not just in the local market.

“Blackpool has seen major investment in recent years which seems to have added to the resorts popularity. The hotel was previously owned by David and Susan Jones for 11 years, who would like to thank all the hotel guests for their custom and support over this time.”
