Divas support the Graham Wylie Foundation

A GLITZY North East event has come up with a gem of an idea – to support one of the region’s newest charities.

Divas and Diamonds will take place at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton for the eighth time this autumn, bringing together hundreds of women for the ultimate girly night.

And the organising committee have revealed that going forward proceeds from the event will be going to the Graham Wylie Foundation, set up by the regional entrepreneur to educate and inspire vulnerable and underprivileged children across the region.

Divas and Diamonds was the brainwave of a group of business women who wanted to create a women-only ball, raising funds for a chosen charity.

Over the years the event – which includes a champagne drinks reception, dinner and live entertainment – has raised thousands of pounds for various good causes.

This year’s event on 14 October has been named Saturday Night Diva, with plans to announce some top name performers in the near future.

The ball, which is also supported by Dandy Events, Big Purple Productions and At Sisters hair and beauty, always attracts hundreds of women and the hope is this year will be the best one yet.

“We are delighted that Divas and Diamonds has chosen the Foundation as their charity for this year,” said Graham Wylie.

“I know it has a reputation as an amazing event and we are looking forward to being part of it along with being able to showcase the work we are doing in the North East.”

Lynn Waterman, of the Divas and Diamonds organising committee added that “supporting the Graham Wylie Foundation was a unanimous decision.”

“This is such a fantastic cause and all of the money raised will stay here in the region,” she said.

“It’s important for us that the Divas and Diamonds event leaves a legacy and being involved with a charity like this allows us to do just that and to see just what good the money raised is doing.”

All guests will enjoy a drinks reception with a mini bottle of bubbly, three course dinner with a half bottle of wine per person and a goody bag.

Table prices vary from £700 for a table of 12 to Diva Sparkles tables at £750, with Diamond VIP packages at £1250 which include seating at the front, an enhanced drinks package and premium goody bag.
