Salford’s PinPointer acquires MediaCityUK-based live events agency Maynineteen
Location insights company PinPointer has announced its acquisition of experiential and live communications agency Maynineteen.
Salford-based PinPointer said the deal will combine its own insights into shopper intelligence and engagement with Maynineteen’s creativity surrounding live retail events and experiential activations.
Established in 2003, Maynineteen employs a team of 11 at its office in MediaCityUK. Among its clients are shopping centre operator intu, property investor JLL, developer Land Securities and estate agents Savills.
PinPointer was founded in 2004 as Bo-Concepts and provides place consulting for a number of national and international brands, including E.ON, Sky TV and Virgin Media.
Following the deal, PinPointer founder Alison Bowcott-McGrath will head up the combined 22-strong team in the role of managing director. Maynineteen co-founders Katie Coombes and Lynsey Hulme will both serve as business development directors.
The two businesses will, in the short term, continue to operate from their offices at Exchange Quay and MediaCity.
Alison Bowcott-McGrath said of the acquisition said: “I’ve long admired the theatre and excitement Maynineteen has brought to UK shopping malls and I’m looking forward to working with its talented team.
“Collectively, we’ll be able to take live events into even more high streets, shopping centres and Business Improvement Districts, with a strong leadership team that understands the science of choosing the right places and a wealth of brilliant ideas to ensure visitors are engaged and inspired.”
She added: “PinPointer has ambitious growth plans and I believe this acquisition will really put us on the map.”
Maynineteen’s Lynsey Hulme said: “PinPointer shares our ethos of offering customers unique and relevant experiences that establish meaningful connections and bring brand loyalty.
“This is a fantastic result for both businesses; we’re confident this will be a smooth transition and business as usual for all clients.”
