Dongqiudi deal to propel Manchester City merch sales in China
Manchester City have signed a new partnership with football-focused social networking and media app Dongqiudi.
As part of the collaboration, the club have created an account on the Dongqiudi platform for content geared towards their growing Chinese fanbase.
MCFC will use the social network for publishing news, match reports and videos.
Further, Dongqiudi will help City create an ecommerce service for selling club merchandise in China.
Dongqiudi was set up in 2013 to allow Chinese football fans to form communities and follow their favourite clubs from all over the world.
The deal is one of several steps taken by Manchester City in recent months to strengthen their presence in Asia.
In April, the club signed an expanded partnership with Chinese technology, content and services company BNN Technology.
