Knight Frank appointed to Sheffield’s Acero
Scarborough International Properties Limited has appointed the Sheffield office of global property consultancy Knight Frank to market the landmark 80,000 sq ft Acero office development.
This flagship office development comprises five floors of spectacular Grade A office space and forms the third building of the successful Sheffield Digital Campus.
It is currently being built alongside Electric Works and Ventana House which proved popular with high profile tenants including Sky and WanDisco.
The appointment sees Knight Frank work with CPP and Fearnie Greaves as joint agents on the £27m project being funded by Kevin McCabe’s Scarborough and Metro Holdings Limited of Singapore.
Peter Whiteley, head of office at Knight Frank in Sheffield, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this prestigious instruction by Scarborough, the owners of Sheffield Digital Campus, who have built, and are currently building, some of the finest office developments in the city.
“We experience a very high level of interest in quality office space in Sheffield, with currently a shortage of Grade A office stock in the city centre.
“Acero will appeal to businesses looking at expanding in the city centre, companies moving into the centre from the wider area, or even those relocating from another city.
“The excellent location, opposite Sheffield train station and minutes from the city centre shopping area, creates a business destination with all the benefits of the city centre on its doorstep.”
Simon McCabe, joint chief executive at Scarborough, said: “We have appointed the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, who will work alongside Fearnie Greaves and CPP, to market the space at Acero because we were very impressed with their superb track record in the city. Their experience and expertise will be invaluable as we seek to let the space in this flagship building.
“Acero builds on the great success of Electric Works and Ventana House, the first two buildings at Sheffield Digital Campus, and adopts the same high quality design and standards.
“No other new office building in the city centre offers Acero’s combination of large and flexible floor plates, immediate accessibility from all key modes of transport, energy efficiency, prominence and prestige.”
Acero, which is due to be completed this summer, will feature open plan floors of between 11,500 sq ft and 14,700 sq ft over five floors, air conditioning and extensive glazing for natural light, an impressive triple height reception area and 62 secure car parking spaces.
The development offers unbeatable transport access via rail, road, tram, bus, and on foot. It is seconds from Sheffield’s Parkway, the main route to the M1 and M18.
The £110m Sheffield Digital Campus’ Electric Works and Ventana House were built in 2010. Scarborough also plans a further phase named Vidreo.
