Step inside Liverpool's newest French restaurant
A new French restaurant has set up shop in the heart of Liverpool’s bustling business district.
Located on Fenwick Street, Petit Parle promises diners a rustic atmosphere with 28 covers and a menu offering locally sourced foods, including meats from Hoylake, fruit and veg from Liverpool and oysters and mussels caught in Anglesey.
Petit Parle’s drinks menu offers gins made from grapes rather than juniper berries, in keeping with French tradition.
The venue’s executive head chef, Lloyd Wilson, said “We have been inspired to bring a French restaurant to the city centre after numerous trips to different parts of France, specifically Paris.
“Considering we are a maritime city there are not many restaurants in the city which are fish based.”
Lloyd continued: “A fine selection of French wines, artisan breads and an evolving menu mean we can really be creative with our dishes.
“As we are in the Spring/Summer season now, we have been making our own twist on Rose. Frose, a slush-based wine cocktail, has been really popular.”
