£250,000 investment in employees is driving company success

Mobile Mini, a leading hirer of portable site accommodation and secure storage containers, with its UK headquarters in Stockton-on-Tees, has credited the quarter-of-a-million-pound investment in staff development as a significant reason behind its growing success.

During 2016, the Company which has 16 branches nationwide, including branches in the North East at Middlesbrough and Sunderland, invested £250,000 in training and developing its employees, carried out over 1,729 training days.

Staff attended numerous courses, covering topics such a product knowledge, sales excellence, customer service, personal development and leadership, new IT systems, continuous improvement, as well as skilled-based courses in areas such as HGV driver development, Health & Safety and Welding.

The company has a dedicated training and development team and of the training courses delivered, many were created in-house by Mobile Mini to ensure its employees’ knowledge and expertise remains second to none within its industry. At the same time the company also expanded its workforce from 393 to 424, with 13 of these new positions created in the North East.

“This week it’s Learning at Work week across the country and I’m delighted to be able to say at Mobile Mini, it’s something we do all year around,” said Louise Arnold, Mobile Mini’s HR Director.

“We recognise our staff are pivotal to the success and growth of the Company, which is why we’re happy to invest not just money, but time, in helping each individual progress and reach their potential.”

2016 was an important year for Mobile Mini, which reported record results for its UK business, with annual revenue hitting £59.8m.
