Laundrapp launches its commercial laundry service as it looks to corner on-demand market
UK on-demand laundry startup Laundrapp has announced the launch of its commercial laundry service with a couple of big-name early client wins.
The London-headquartered company has launched the service recently, initially in London, which will see its fleet of five vans servicing major corporates and brands with their commercial laundry needs.
Christian Dior and Z-Hotels are two of the clients that Laundrapp has lined up for launch with services ranging from linen to staff uniforms, stock, table cloths and ven chef’s whites, as it looks to take a bite out of the multi-billion pound commercial laundry sector.
The app, which is headed up by former Mind Candy Chief Marketing Officer, Edward Relf, recently expanded its B2C offering into Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, following on from its UK-wide roll-out last summer.
Relf said that the launch comes after a period of month-on-month growth for the startup and that the move into the commercial laundry sector was ‘inevitable’ due to the scalable nature of the underlying platform.
He commented: “This is a very exciting growth phase for the business, we are adding to our fleet, employing more staff and are expanding into new sectors and territories.
“Laundrapp has always been a disruptive business and we are ready to shake up the commercial laundry sector just as we’ve done across the consumer laundry space.”
Launched in 2014, Laundrapp gives users an on-demand laundry service which collects, cleans and delivers their laundry at a time and place of their choosing.
It closed a £5m funding round last summer and has ambitions to scale rapidly to a number of international markets by the end of the year, including Mexico, Turkey and China.
