Salford Quays-based Recom Solutions targets acquisitive growth
The founders of Recom Solutions, a construction project management business, are stepping up their buy-and-build strategy to expand their services and enter new sectors.
The directors of Salford-based Recom, Jason McKnight and Joseph Dillon, are looking to build on the success of their first acquisition – a building consultancy employing six people in Liverpool.
The deal saw the firm snap up Hardcastle & Hogarth, which has operated in the North West for almost 40 years and provides building surveying, quantity surveying, project management and design services for clients in social housing, supported living, student accommodation and other sectors.
Jason said discussions are now underway with several other potential acquisition targets as Recom seeks to to develop a group of companies under its banner.
He explained: “Our mission is to acquire established north west consultancies offering similar services to Recom but to a different client base, or to bolt on practices that provide construction professional services which complement our own.
“The successful purchase of Hardcastle & Hogarth is a yardstick for our acquisition strategy. Combined with continued organic growth, we are confident of becoming a growing force in the north west construction professional services market.”
Recom employs a team of 10 at Vanguard House in Salford Quays.
The firm, run by Jason and Joseph with head of operations Gemma Price, said it is now embarking on a recruitment drive to accommodate growth.
Recom has a place on Manchester City Council’s Construction and Property Professional Services framework and also works with independent retailers in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, MediaCityUK and other areas.
Speaking further, Jason said: “We have a proven track record of planning and managing projects to the highest standard, from the design phase through to completion.
“Our team of construction-trained experts enables us to look at where we can make savings in time and cost for our clients to add further value.”
