Advanced Supply Chain strengthens senior team with FD hire

International logistics specialist, Advanced Supply Chain Group (ASCG), has announced the appointment of Sandy Hunter as financial director, part of an ongoing process to strengthen its senior management team and enable it to meet its ambitious growth forecasts.

Bradford-headquartered ASCG was founded in 1997 by Mike Danby, CEO, and Glyn Rogan, CFO. An innovative logistics partner, it delivers bespoke end-to-end supply chains across the globe, with customers including Decathlon, Urban Outfitters, DFS and Jaguar Land Rover. The business operates 11 sites within the UK and Europe, while its freight forwarding division, Advanced Forwarding, also operates two offices in China.

Hunter is an experienced financial director and brings a wealth of knowledge to ASCG’s senior management team. He benefits from specialist expertise within the logistics and transport sector, with previous roles including financial director at both Bidvest Logistics and Clipper.

In his new role at ASCG, Hunter will work with the finance team to continually improve systems, making them work harder to proactively highlight business trends, spot and assess potential risks, and, crucially, ensure that contracts provide value for money for both existing and future customers.

Hunter said: “The logistics sector has never been more important to the UK economy – the huge growth in online transactions has driven significant changes in consumer buying behavior, with logistics companies now providing a vast array of services, from e-fulfilment through to home delivery networks and the operation of returns processing centres, such ASCG’s ReStore service.
