Planning granted for 664-bed Liverpool scheme with hanging gardens and residents’ gym

Property firm The Vinco Group has received planning consent for a 664-bed residential scheme on the edge of Liverpool city centre.

The development, known as Freemasons, will comprise four 16-storey residential towers set around three landscaped courtyards on the junction of St Bartholomew Road and Leeds Street.

The properties will house a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, studios and three-storey two-bed townhouses.

With planning permission in place, Liverpool-based Vinco hopes to start work on site this year.

Chris Boles, senior project manager at Vinco, said: “Our team has worked hard to ensure that that the scheme delivers an impressive new development which provides a significant number of high-quality residential apartments in an up-and-coming area of the city.

“Liverpool’s planning committee has a great approach in welcoming innovative design which will enhance the city scape and deliver much needed residential accommodation.”

Falconer Chester Hall is the architecture practice behind the scheme, which will feature finished concrete and glazed façades offering a ‘light and fresh’ structure enhanced by a lantern on each block’s upper floors.

Between each tower there will be a ninth-floor communal garden, creating an open communal space with cascading hanging gardens.

The scheme will offer residents’ parking with space for 92 cars and 248 bicycles.

Freemasons will also feature a business centre, commercial space and residents’ gym on the ground floor.
