A CGI of Liverpool Shopping Park

Six high street brands confirmed for Edge Lane’s £100m Liverpool Shopping Park

Six high street retailers and leisure brands have been announced as headline tenants at the new £100m Liverpool Shopping Park.

M&S Foodhall will take 11,024 sq ft, Outfit 10,031 sq ft, Boots 10,005 sq ft and JD Sports 5,484 sq ft – the first to open their doors at the development when it launches this October.

Hollywood Bowl and a 156-cover Chiquito Restaurant Mexican Bar & Grill, meanwhile, will bolster the scheme’s leisure line-up.

The four retailers will occupy the Western Quarter, the first phase of the project. Western Quarter will deliver 105,598 sq ft of retail space across 17 units, set into a horseshoe shape and fronting onto Edge Lane.

Chiquito will be housed in a building at Liverpool Shopping Park’s entrance, adjacent to the new Frankie & Benny’s restaurant announced earlier this year.

The 24-lane Hollywood Bowl will open in Summer 2018.

David Lyons, chief exec of The Derwent Group, the company behind the park, said: “From the outset we’ve said that the success of Liverpool Shopping Park is dependent on the strength of the retail and leisure tenant mix and we have been working hard to get the balance right and these deals over the line.

“Liverpool Shopping Park will be one of the UK’s biggest shopping schemes once complete and we’re thrilled that the first wave of lettings is so strong.”

He added: “With the likes of M&S Foodhall, Boots and Hollywood Bowl, shoppers and leisure customers can now get a real sense of what Liverpool Shopping Park will be all about. We’re in final negotiations with a number of other retail and leisure operators and expect to announce additional lettings imminently.”

Pete Swallow, M&S’ regional manager for Merseyside and Cheshire, commented: “Our new store will provide customers in Merseyside with the very best of M&S food and drink.

“We look forward to unveiling more details of our new M&S store at Liverpool Shopping Park soon.”

Once complete, Liverpool Shopping Park will offer 727,000 sq ft of retail space supported by 1,500 parking spaces and leisure businesses.

The development is forecast to create over 3,000 jobs at the former Edge Lane Retail Park site.

McMullen Wilson, CSP Curson Sowerby and Petch & Co are retail and leisure agents on the scheme.

The latest raft of lettings follow on from the completion of the new 49,000 sq ft flagship B&Q, which opened earlier this month.
